Lanacort®: Hydrocortisone – a natural chemical made by the body which reduces swelling, itching, inflammation and burning. The most common prescribed and/or over the counter steroid. Very low potency steroid. Also sold under the brand name(s): Cetacort®, Nutracort®, Anusol-HC®, Hytone®, Cort-Dome®, Cortenema®, Cortifoam®, Cortaind®, Locoid®, Westcort®

Laser surgery: a type of surgery that uses special light beams instead of instruments for surgical procedures. (The word "laser" stands for "Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation").

Lesions: a wound or injury to the skin.

Lichenification: thickening upper layers of the skin in response to trauma (thickening of the skin due to itching or rubbing). Commonly occurs in atopic dermatitis

Lichen simplex chronicus: occurs because of repeated scratching, may appear as small and flat areas (plaques) of various sizes, 1 to 10 inches (2.5 to 25 centimeters) in diameter. These areas have definite margins that have become thick and leather-like (lichenified). This type of dermatitis is also known as Neurodermatitis can occur when something such as a tight garment rubs or scratches your skin. This irritation may lead you to rub or scratch your skin repeatedly. Common locations include ankles, wrist, outer forearm or arm, and the back of your neck.

Licon: (Fluocinonide), a high potency corticosteroid. Also sold under the brand name(s): Fluonex® , Dermacin, Fluex, Lidex, Lidex-E

Lidex®: By Medicis, (Fluocinonide), a high potency corticosteroid. Also sold under the brand name(s): Fluonex® , Dermacin, Fluex, Licon, Lidex, Lidex-E

Locoid®: (Ferndale), - Hydrocortisone – a natural chemical made by the body which reduces swelling, itching, inflammation and burning. The most common prescribed and/or over the counter steroid. Very low potency steroid. Also sold under the brand name(s): Cetacort®, Nutracort®, Anusol-HC®, Hytone®, Cort-Dome®, Cortenema®, Cortifoam®, Cortaind®, Lanacort®, Westcort®

Lotrisone®: by Schering, (Clotrimazole, Betamethasone dipropionate), cream and lotion contain a combination of a steroid (betamethasone) and an antifungal drug (clotrimazole). It is used to treat skin infections caused by fungus, such as athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm of the body.

Lymphoma: malignant tumor of lymph node tissue.
